Capacity Building Projects: Other projects between 1990 and 2000

The DCMR executed international assistance projects between 1990 and 2000, mostly financed by the Dutch Government. Most projects are executed in CEE countries.

Experience
International experience of the DCMR has been gained partly through its participation in the UN inter-agency programme on public health and environmental risk assessment. Work has been carried out in Zagreb (Croatia), Bombay and five different states of India. Furthermore in Copsa Mica, Bacau and Constantza (Romania), St. Petersburg, Lomonosov, Sosnovy Bor and Novomoskovsk (Russia), North Bohemia (the Czech Republic), Bratislava (Slovakia), Curaçao and St Eustatius (Netherlands Antilles), Aruba, Bourgas (Bulgaria), Poland and Ventspils (Latvia).

Project overview
The DCMR still executes several of these projects. In the project overview the main issues and the most important results are presented of each project. Also, an overview is given of all project results which can be provided. It ranges from 'twinning' (governmental organisation assisting governmental counterpart) to the development and implementation of environmental action programmes and the development of an industry-government 'target group approach'.

Project partners
The DCMR is a governmental organisation. Our project approach is based upon this position as a governmental organisation: we assist, advise and support other governmental and non-governmental organisations in the development and implementation of environmental action programmes. Many projects are not executed by the DCMR alone. Appropriate project partners are frequently looked for to work as subcontractor or as partner in a consortium to acquire projects. The DCMR is however not restricted to a particular partner beyond the scope of a project.
