Capacity building in Czech Republic 2004-2005: Enforcement of Environmental Law
In 2003 the DCMR started a second project in the Czech Republic, financed by the European Commission. The project is one of the final environmental projects on environmental enforcement within the Phare Twinning project series in the Czech Republic
Extensive training
This project has been an institutional strengthening of the environmental administration and inspection for central and regional levels. It has provided extensive training to the staff members of the environmental administration to prepare them for accession to the EU in the field of enforcement and co-operation in enforcement activities. The project included workshops and study tours to the Netherlands. It has proposed changes in the environmental organisational structure of the environmental inspectorate in the Czech Republic and assisted in defining a strategy. The project was in co-operation with InfoMil (NL).
